SNOW!!!! Drama!!!! Ugh! But this past weekend had some high points too. I made good food! Sausage gravy with biscuits, London broil… yum! I went to see Phantom of the Opera and it was awesome! One of my good friends had bought tickets as a Christmas present for her Mom and her Mom decided, at the last minute, that she didn’t want to go. So I got these wonderful tickets that were up front and perfect. The singing was magnificent! It was a thrill! I had tons and tons and tons of reading – not for pleasure – but for my classes. I auditioned for a part in Vagina Monologues and made it. Hooray! Something to look forward to at the end of a cold, heartless month. I need sunshine! I need warmth! I need joy and peace and happiness! Don’t we all!
My fourth annual Soup and Bread party is happening this coming Saturday, Feb 3, at 4pm and should be great fun, good food and excellent conversation. All are invited and welcome. Hope this is a great week!
Best! Cathie

Hi Cathie,
Sounds like you are very busy with fun and school! Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite. I have seen the play many times but I really do love the movie just as much. Congratulations for getting a part in the monologue! Wish I could have been there to enjoy the sausage gravy and biscuits, a southern tradition! But I have been on a diet since Christmas…I will try to make it this weekend! Being a southern gal, I love every snowflake that falls in OH!!!
Hope you have a great week!

Fun and School and WORK…. But work is the least pleasant part of my day right now. Things are very difficult at Carlson Library. With all the restructuring I now have multiple bosses to report to and that is very difficult for me. But, as I always say, what’s supposed to be is gonna be. Life does go on. We just need to keep on keeping on……

Cathie, I too want warmth and sunshine. I really want to take my frequent flyer miles and head to Southern California! But, I won’t be heading off anywhere soon, I’m afraid.

Luke, the Vagina Monologues is a Readers Theater play that happens at many universities worldwide in Feb. It is from a series of stories written by Eve Ensler and it tells Womens’ Tales. All proceeds are used for prevention of violence against women. You can look it up in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vagina_Monologues
There is a book and a play and a movie. It is powerful and it is real and it is awesome. I am so glad that I am able to perform in the play again. Once I have all the details, I will post them in my blog for the class.
